Friend 2 Friend Satellite Training Program Overview

The Friend 2 Friend Satellite Training is a long-term partnership program between Friend 2 Friend Social Learning Society (F2FSLS) and other non-profit organizations (satellite candidate organization). F2FSLS will provide training to certify the satellite candidate organization to deliver the Friend 2 Friend Autism Demystification Programs (Puppet Presentations and Simulation Game Presentations) "live" in the same manner and quality as the F2FSLS team delivers the programs throughout BC.

The Training

The satellite candidate organization will provide F2FSLS with a team of 3 to 4 qualified individuals (click here for qualifications). This team will undergo several phases of intensive training to build the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver the Friend 2 Friend Autism Demystification Programs. Phases of training are as follows:

  • Phase 1: Pre-training materials
  • Phase 2: Three days in BC with F2FSLS Team
  • Phase 3: Three days on site in local schools with F2F Master Guide and written report/recommendations
  • Phase 4: Field Work (100 presentations)
  • Phase 5: Evaluation (1-day)
  • Phase 6: Written Report/Certification

To undergo training the satellite candidate organization must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a federally registered non-profit society
  • Operating for more than 5 years
  • Currently offering outreach services/programs in the community
  • Have a volunteer board of directors
  • Have 3-4 highly qualified paid or volunteer trainees (click here for qualifications)
  • Have the resources (human and financial) to successfully implement the F2F Programs in their community

Friend 2 Friend offers this training on a limited case-by-case basis. We accept only one organization into this program per year. If your organization is interested in learning more about our satellite training program, please have a senior official from your organization contact us and we will provide you with a satellite training package.
